WEBENCH® Tools/AFE4403EVM: WEBENCH® Tools/AFE4403EVM

Part Number: AFE4403EVM

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

Just wondering , if the PCB design files with schematic, PCBdoc/layout files for the sensor are available open source? If yes, can anyone guide me to the download link for this.

Thanks!

  • Hey Tahmina,

Unfortunately, in my experiance, the EVMs that customers can buy typically don't have their PCB/schematic files published with them. The ones that do are the boards that TI makes for evaluation but doesn't produce. The reason for this is most EVMs are sold at cost to designers and TI makes little, if anything, off of them. For example, the "DP83867ERGZ SGMII 1000M/100M/10M Ethernet PHY Evaluation Module" doesn't have design files available since you can buy it. This is due to the simplicity of the board and limited active circuitry, meaning the cost is low and can be sold at a reasonable cost.

On the flip side though, we have the "EMI/EMC Compliant Industrial Temp Dual Port Gigabit Ethernet PHY Reference Design" that does have design files published. This board is significantly more complex and has far greater cost of production so TI doesn't stock them; a small run for that board is roughly 600 dollars alone, not including the parts and assembly. Since the design was made for validation purposes though and already done, TI will publish the design so that a designer can champion it themselves or to learn from it.

Not the best policy unfortunately since it is nice to have that starting point. On the bright side, you're not alone, I've had this same issue too...
