CCS/AWR1642BOOST: Some questions about mmw_demo and capture_demo

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello everyone,

The 3.3 section of MMWAVE_SDK_USER_GUIDE introduces two modes of loading imaging: demonstration mode and CCS development mode.

For mmw_demo, I have completed it in demonstration mode and CCS development mode.

But for capture_demo, I can only complete it following the steps in 3.4.3 section and the image file loaded into the flash is mmwave_sdk_01_00_00_05\packages\ti\demo\xwr16xx\capturexwr16xx_capture_demo.bin.

I try to load mmwave_sdk_01_00_00_05\packages\ti\utils\ccsdebugxwr16xx_ccsdebug.bin into flash to do capture_demo, but I can't connect UART.

I have some question as follows:

1.  Is there only one way to complete the capture_demo ?

That is : firstly load mmwave_sdk_01_00_00_05\packages\ti\demo\xwr16xx\capturexwr16xx_capture_demo.bin, then follow the steps in 3.4.3 section of MMWAVE_SDK_USER_GUIDE.

2. mmw_demo can start and stop anytime, but for capture_demo, I can't control the UART by Tera Term after I get data from CCS.

Dose the capture_demo support sensorStart or sensorStop anytime?

3. I can get source code of mmw_demo and capture demo in SDK. I want to get the code in form of CCS project. Now I get the CCS project of mmw_demo in mmwave_training_1_1_3.

Where can I get the CCS project of capture_demo?

Thank you!

  • Hello Zhicheng,
To confirm if I understood the issue properly, you are able to run the capture demo completely if you flash the the "xwr16xx_capture_demo.bin" to the serial flash but when you try loading it from CCS its not working?

You can get the complete source code of both the demo applications in the SDK installation. The C files are available in the same folder you got the binary files: MMWAVE_SDK v01.00.00.05\packages\ti\demo\xwr16xx\
