Hi team,

The customer needs to select a temperature sensor. The temperature sensor can be measured the power temperature and other ICs

temperature of his board . And the temperature sensor can be cascaded.

Would you recommend a suitable temperature sensor?

Hi Aaron,

The customer needs to measure the MOSFET temperature. He would like to measure the temperature of 20 MOSFET

devices at a time. So the temperature sensor can be cascaded. The UART will be OK.

The temperature range needs 0~200 degree C.

There are no special requirements for the voltage supply and the accuracy.

Hi Mickey,

I'm sorry for the delay. TMP107 would be a good candidate for this application. TMP107 is a daisy-chaned that supports up to 32 devices in one single line communciation such as UART with 0.7°C accuracy max across temperature range -55°C to 125°C. The power supply range is 1.7V to 5.5V. If you need a demos board or EVM. Please let me know.

One thing to note is switching MOSFET creates a lot noise that possibly coupling to the communcation line or affect the TMP107. Do you have the part number that you could share?

Thanks for your support. But the customer needs the sensor that can measure 0~200 °C.

TMP107 can only measure -55°C to 125°C. It cannot meet the customer's requirement. Do we have any other temperature

sensor?

I found there was only LM95172-Q1 that can measure 0~200 °C. Can LM95172-Q1 meet the customer's requirement?

Can it be cascaded?

For the MOSFET part number, I will confirm with the customer.

Our product line makes temperature sensors based on silicon technology. The sensing element is actually a transistor. This technology is not capable of exceeding 150C. We don't offer any products with 200C capability. For this range, you will need to use a thermocouple or resistance based sensing element such as thermistor or RTD. PGA900 and ADS1118 are examples of TI products that can be used to interface with these types of sensors.

Hi Mickey,

Yes LM95172 can measure the temperature up to 200°C, and it is in ceramic package; therefore, the price will not be cheap. The communicaiton protocol for this device is SPI, so you might need at least 20 GPIOs to switch the CS pin.
