CCS/AWR1642BOOST: Capture demo : Saved data file is all zeros from CCS

Hello,

I want to capture the ADC data of a chirp using Capture Demo.

I opened the teraterm to connect to "User UART" COM port, and chose the Demo configuration 3, sent the commands provided in file(capture_demo_script.txt) and followed the procedure in mmwave_SDK_user_guide.

I watched the gFrameAddress[ ] in CCS expression window, and noticed that the values in gFrameAddress[0:255] were all zeros, and saved data file were all zeros too.

What is the reason for this problem?

Hello Jian,

In same scenario can you try to check variable 'gCaptureMCB.stats.frameStartIntCounter' it should be non-zero value and should be the same number which you have configured from CLI (num of frame).

To check any variable in expression window you need to halt the core during CCS debug session only then values will get updated.

I check the variable 'gCaptureMCB.stats.frameStartintCounter', its value is zero. So, how to set it to a non-zero value?

Pls check the value at DSP side, instead of R4F.

You can find below info in 3. 4. 3. Capture demo for xWR16xx of mmwave sdk user guide.
Mode 2 and Mode 3: check on DSP (C674X_0)

I watched the gFrameAddress[] in CCS expression window at DSP , and noticed that the value in gFrameAddress[0] shows 536870912 and gFrameAddress[1:255] remains 0x00. Is this right?

536870912 equals to 0x20000000. Pls check the ADC data at the start address of 0x20000000 at DSP side.

I followed the memory save procedure in the User guide, the saved data file is all zeros except row 1.

But I placed a can before the EVM, I think the data should be non-zero.

I can't reproduce your problem with loading R4F/DSP code from CCS and running. I tried the config in capture_demo_script.txt on serial port with mode 3 and I can see output from 0x20000000.
