AWR1642BOOST: Detection of un-existence object with Demo Visualizer

Guru 16800 points
Part Number: AWR1642BOOST

Hello,

By using AWR1642BOOST, un-existence object can be detected.
Un-existence object is shown in the following figure by circled red circle.
It is detected in very near range.

Please explain why this object is detected.

Best Regards,

Nomo

  • Hello Nomo,
Is the very close in object a cms in distance? This could happen due to direct TX to RX antenna coupling and if the detection threshold is very low. These can be removed by performing DC calibration , ie cancelling out the DC bins. This is done in the mmw demo application by using the “calibDcRangeSig” command.[see pg25 of mmwavesdkuser guide].

The steps to be followed in the demo are
1)Add the “calibDcRangeSig” command to the cfgfile.
2)Make sure the area in the immediate vicinity front of the device is clear
3)Send the modified cfgfile to the device.
4)In the beginning it measure the DC signals in the clean environment and then cancels it. After the cancellation you be bring in the desired objects in the screen.

  • Hello Nomo,
Did you try the DCcalibration procedure mentioned above? Let us know if this helped resolve the issue.
