LDC1101EVM not recognised by Sensing Solutions Software GUI

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1101EVM, LDC1101

Hello,

I run the Solution Software GUI v1.9.2 on a Windows 7 - 64Bit System.

  1. When connecting the LDC1101EVM-Board to my System the green LED on the EVM-Board lights but nothing happens. The GUI shows in the bottom left corner "Not connected"
  2. When connecting the LDC1000EVM-Board to my System the board is recognised and everything works.

In case 2 the Devicemanager of my Windowssystems shows a EVM at a COM-port, in case 1 (when connecting the LDC1101EVM) not.

Do I need an additional device Driver or did I something wrong.

Thanks,

Frank

  • HI Frank,

The sensing solutions EVM GUI doesn't fully support the LDC1101EVM yet, you will need to install the Labview Based GUI to get started with the LDC1101EVM.

    Regards,

    Varn.

  • Hi Varn,

I had already installed this Labview based GUI.

Following your advice I deinstalled both GUI Versions and reinstalled the Labview based GUI, but with no success.

The board lights the green LED but in the device manager of my Windows System there is still no entry for the board.

    Regards

    Frank

  • Hi Frank,

I apologize for the inconvenience you're facing, this installation is usually straightforward. Were you able to go into device manager and scan for hardware changes, I would also try using a different USB port on your machine to see if the device gets recognized. If the USB device is recognized but does not show up as EVM under COM ports than you are missing the driver. A copy of the driver can be located under C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\LDC1101 EVM GUI or C:\ti\Sensing Solutions EVM GUI-1.9.2
If computer is unable to recognize a new USB device or a COM port labelled EVM than unfortunately the EVM may not be functioning correctly. We can work with you to get you a replacement module if this is indeed the case.

    Regards,

    Varn.
  • Hi Varn,

I need to apologize for any inconvenience. The root cause of my problem was a defect USB-cable. I exchanged the cable and everything is working.

Thanks a lot for your Support in this case.

    Regards

    Frank

P.S. Could you please have a look onto following topic where I'm waiting for your answer:
