CCS/AWR1443BOOST: the signals in vitalSigns_lab

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I'm running the vitalSgns_lab, there some questions confused me:

1. which signal is performed 1D FFT,the IF signal or the signal received from the Rx antenna?

2. the item 'range-bin' means what?

3. why the maximum reflectivity target corresponding to the maximum phase of signl after range FFT?

THANK YOU

  • Hello,

I would suggest first taking a look at the following document that explains the basics of FMCW radar.

    1. The FFT will be performed on the IF signal.

    2. In simplest terms, the range-bin can be thought of as the range resolution. If we have a range resolution of 0.04m, then anything within 0.00m to 0.04m will fall into the same range bin.

    3. I am not sure I understand the question. Could you please clarify?

    Regards,

    Adrian
