TMP275: Configure register of TMP275 over I2C on TI AM4376

Hi,

How can I configure the registers of TMP275..? I want to configure its "Configuration Register" to 11bit. How can I do that and which API/ drivers should I use..?

Are there any drivers inside TI EVM TMDSEVM437X for I2C interface and the slave and its register configuration..??

Hi Dhara,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, we do not have a driver supporting TI EVM TMDSEVM437X. However, it should be very easy to configure the resolution to 11-bit by setting R1 and R0 bit in the confugration bit. Mask the register if you want to retain the value before you set both bits. For more detail, please go the TMP275 datasheet section 7.5.8.

Hi,

I have already used this IC and configured it over TI MSP430FR2311 controller and its working fine. But I want to finally interface it with TI AM437x processor.

Can you suggest such similar temperature sense IC from TI or any other manufacturer which I can configure and interface with the EVM or AM437x Sitara Processor..?

Hi Dhara,

I would sugest to post this question in the Sitara Processor forum (e2e.ti.com/.../791). I2C communcation protocol is very standard so I think someone probably already developed the source code.

It seems both the forum (Sitara Processor and Temperature Sensor TMP275) has no proper answer for this query..

Hi Dhara,
Our answer is that we don't have an specific TMP275 driver for the Sitara processor. I assume that you can port your existing MSP430 driver to Sitara.
Other option:
I assume (not 100% sure) that Sitara have generic I2C drivers. You can also modify those for the TMP275 based on the explanation of Aaron.
