IWR1443BOOST: What's the main reason for choosing RO4835 RF PCB material?

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST

Hi,

Rogers RO4830 datasheet specifically mention 76 - 81 GHz (https://www.rogerscorp.com/acs/products/1100/RO4830-Laminates.aspx) frequency band for mmWave designs.

According to datasheet of RO4835, they've given design parameters up to 40 GHz and according to my understanding, RO4835 gets much higher losses above 40 GHz than RO4830 material.

Is there any specific reason for choosing RO4835 PCB material for the IWR1443BOOST design other than cost difference of the two materials ?

What's the main reason for selecting the RO4835 PCB for the RF component layer (top layer) and not using a material such as RO4830?

Is it something related to durability, assembly, loading issues, manufacturing issues etc.?

Cheers,
Rand
