Starterware/TMP112: tmp112 shut down current is abnomal

Part Number: TMP112

Tool/software: Starterware

dear TI

we use the TMP112, when complete one temp conversion, os is read 1, and it auto run into shut down model, in same time we set the SD to "1", and it should be run into shut down model, normally, shut down current is 0.5uA, but in fact, we test is 9uA. we want to know how to run into shut down model, otherwise 9uA is the normal shut down current.

  • Moving this thread to the temperature sensors forum.

  • Thank you Lalindra.

    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us for your inquiry. In order to perform the one-shot mode, you must set the SD to "1", and trigger the OS bit to begin a single temperature conversion. Afterward, the device will automatically place the device in shutdown mode again., and it won't convert again until you trigger the OS bit. Please make sure that you are still in the shutdown mode when you are trying to measure the current.
    1. When you see 9µA current, what is the current setting of the OS and SD bit?
    2. Can you probe the SCL and SDA pins and read the configuration register when you see 9µA current? Please provide scope photo.

Let me know when you have the snapshot. Thank you.

    Aaron
