CCS/IWR1642BOOST: Flashing Issue

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, IWR1642

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I am working om IWR1642 sensor and I am unable to flash the ccsdebug binary file. I am using uniflash software to flash the binary file.

I am able to see com ports on device manager but when I am trying to flash, error connecting to device message and recheck com port message is popped up.

The jumper is placed on SOP2 while flashing.

The NRST LED is not glown when the board is powered on.

Could anyone please help me out to resolve the issue.

Thank you.

  • Hello Srikanth,

Is the Red 5V LED also on? Does the NRST Orange LED turn on when the NRST button is pressed?

If the NRST LED is not glowing then there is likely a problem with your power supply, please confirm you are using an appropriate supply (5 V, >2.5A).

Lastly, I would confirm that the COM port you have selected in the Uniflash "Settings & Utilities" pane corresponds to the XDS110 Class Application/User UART port shown in your device manager.

Please let me know if this does or does not resolve your problem.

    Cheers,
    Akash
  • Hi Akash,

Thanks for the reply. The power led i.e. is RED is glowing but the orange LED is not turned on at stage of power on as well when reset button is pressed. The reset led is off throughout the period.

The serial settings are same as mentioned in Uni flash.

I have checked the voltage and current and they are same as mentioned. I guess the board is pulling nrst pin low by default.

Is that possible to connect JTAG and fix the issue?

  • Srikanth,

I'd highly recommend trying with a different power supply. If the orange NRST LED is off then that indicates that the device is stuck in reset. Since the Red (5V On) LED remains on, a defective board is unlikely.

You will not be able to fix the issue through JTAG since the device/board does not appear to be powered properly.

  • Hello again Srikanth,

Hopefully your lack of queries were a result of successful implementation. I'm going to close this thread, feel free to start a new one if you have any other questions.

    Cheers,
