AWR1243: cannot download firmware to the AWR1243

Hi ，I am debugging the AWR1243 E1.0.

1.I just connect serial port of AWR1243 to my PC,and use Uniflash to download firmware and config file to the AWR1243,but the uniflash report a error message that <Image loading failed:Not able to connect to serial port Recheck COM port selected and/or permissions.>

2.But i use RadarStudio（Version 1.6.1.0）to connect the RS232 Port, the RadarStudio shows that <the RS232 connectivity status:connected> in case of 115200 Baud Rate.

3.In case of 921600 BaudRate, the RadarStudio cannot connect RS232 either.

4.i download the config file with RadarStudio and the output window has no message,

5.How can i download the BSS and MSS firmware and config file to the AWR1243?

Hi,

Customer is working on their own AWR1243 board. The UART port is connected to an external RS232 chip, then connect to PC. I think Unflash only needs the serial port signal from radar chip, no other signals, right?

i am still facing the flashing problems.
The uart pins of AWR1243 are connected to PC through a level conversion chip (TP3232N) ,not like demoboard which use the XDS110, is it ok?

Hello,
The Uniflash needs just the COM port but Radar studio needs the same FTDI device that present in the Dev Pack to be fully functional.

Did Uniflash work earlier and then stop working ? There is another post on E2E with a similar error where they found issue with a diode on their board (e2e.ti.com/.../598176

I still cannot download the firmware to AWR1243 E1.0
Do need other signals of AWR1243 to be set like NRESET, WARM_RESET, ERROR_IN when downloading firmware and config file to AWR1243 E1.0?

Hello,
No other signal is needed for Uniflash. Please check the components on the board, could be an issue on the PCB like in the other post.
Also we recommend moving to ES2.0 silicon since we are not supporting ES1.0 devices.

Hello,
If you are trying to erase the flash or flash a new image to the onboard serial flash you need to make sure the SOP mode is set to SOP mode 5. ie the SOP 0/1/2 lines are driven to '101' during the device bootup to enter this mode. Only then will the device enter the flashing mode.
