AWR1642: What's the detailed Chirp and Frame parameter when measured the average power consumption in AWR1642's datasheet?

Part Number: AWR1642

Hi,

What's the detailed Chirp and Frame parameter when measured the average power consumption shown in Table 5-4 of AWR1642's datasheet?

This parameter is given by datasheet, but not enough detail. Sampling: 3.2 MSps complex Transceiver, 25-ms frame time, 256 Chirps, 128 Samples/chirp, 8-μs interchirp time (50 duty cycle), DSP active

I want to know the detailed Chirp and Frame parameter when measured the average power consumption. Thanks.

Regards,

Wesley

  • Hello Wesley,
The average currents are measured with the following chirp and frame parameter:
128 samples per chirp, 3.2Msps sampling rate, 25Mhz/usec slope, 5 usec idle time, 3 usec ADC start time, frame peridocity of 25 msec.
Always all 4 RX are enabled and based on the condition either 1 or 2 TX are transmitting simultaneously.
The DSP is active and is doing 1D/2D FFT with object detection.

  • HI Vivek,

Thanks for your reply, that's help.
But in this case, the ADC's sample rate is 3.2Msps, is it using Regular ADC mode or Low Power ADC mode?
    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Wesley
  • Hello Wesley,
The present numbers are with regular ADC mode but going forward we recommend using the low power ADC mode for AWR1642. So in the low power mode the current numbers will be even lower.
