AWR1243BOOST: What is the usage of L2 layer opening below RF Tx and Rx?

Hi champion,
   In AWR1243 Boostpack layout file. There is seven openings in L2 layer just below the RF Tx and rx ball. What is the usage of this balls? And what impact if customer does not follow this design on their board?
