Regulatory Situation

I command TI on developing this 77GHz solutions that looks awesome. We are not in automotive or industrial markets. We currently use 24Ghz radars in our consumer products and we are very much interested in moving to 77Ghz but I am hoping to understand if the 77Ghz sanctioned for other applications? (Consumer?)

I appreciate if TI could help us understand if we can use these solutions in non industrial and automotive products.

Thx

  • Hello,

Assuming you are located in Europe, the starting point covering the frequency allocation there is named “The European table of frequency allocations and applications in the frequency range 8.3 kHz to 3000 GHz”. It is available here.

From there, one may see which standard applies to a given application, for example EN 302 729 for Level Probing Radars (LPR). Then, all these standards are accessible on ETSI’s website; that’s where one gets an exact understanding of what’s allowed or not.

Also, feel free to contact your TI Sales Representative if you'd like to get information on product availability outside of the 76–81 GHz band.

    Thanks,
    François.
