AWR1642BOOST: How are the points of detected objects defined?

Hello,

In the out of box demo visualizer, the detected objects can be seen as points in the X-Y Scatter Plot. How are the points defined? Does one point mean the center of one single object? If yes, does this mean AWR1642BOOST has already detected the boundary of the object?

There is documentation available for the mmWave demo in "$mmwave_sdk_01_00_00_05/packages/ti/demo/xwr16xx/mmw/docs/doxygen/html/index.html" .This will help you understand the data processing chain, peak grouping ,detection matrix etc.

Hi Raghu,

There is no information how to decode this q-format issue in the doxygen documents.... I have the same problem. I am able to get range, velocity, peak value but can not convert the q-format values to true x,y,z.

Hi Burak.

Search for the function MmwDemo_XYestimation in the file dss_data_path.c in the 'mmw' folder. This function is used to populate the x, and y coordinates. You can see how the q-format values are created.
