AWR1243: Raw data format

Part Number: AWR1243

Hi everyone,

can someone tell me what the data format of the raw samples coming over LVDS in 16 bit per sample mode is? I mean is it an unsigned integer? Signed integer? If it is singed, what format is it exatly? 1-complement? 2-complement?

  • Fabian,

  • Hi,
thanks for the info but I cannot find any information of the word format. There is a lot of information on how the words are transmitted over the LVDS lanes, in which order, on which lane and so on. But I cannot find any information on the word format - e.g. if it is an unsigned or signed word. Also they are just talking about the Radar Studio output - which does not have to be the same as the output of the chip.
    Best regards,
    Fabian Schwartau

  • Hello Fabian,
The following app note captures the LVDS data format coming out on the LVDS lanes: www.ti.com/.../swra555.pdf

The AWR1243 device follows the interleaved format mentioned in the document. One information that might be missing in the app note is that the ADC data sample in itself is always a signed 2's compliment.

    Regards,
    Vivek
