AWR1642BOOST: RadarStudio Fails To Open Without HW

I need to preview the RadarStudio GUI; see what the GUI is capable of and looks like without HW. According to the FAEs this is supposed to be possible. When I follow the instructions in the RadarStudio User's Guide I get the error shown in 2.1.6. TI Is out of stock on the TSW1400 EVM and they won't have more for months. So there is simply no way to connect the TWS1400.

How is the RadarStudio GUI installed and run without HW?

Hello Jeremy,

If you have installed the pre-requites for the RadarStudio as mentioned in the RadarStudio User Guide you should be able to open it without error.

Can you put the snapshot of the error you see when you open the RadarStudio ?

I'm not sure I understand. I am following along in the section 2. Software setup... Pre-Requisites for Installation... 6. Note... if you see the error. Yup that's the error I have. Here is a snapshot.

Can you confirm you are using Matlab Runtime version 8.5.1 32-bit? This will need to be the default version of Matlab Runtime on your machine. Let us know if you need help with this.

Yes as per 2.1.1 of the RadarStudio_User's_Guide.pdf that I have (the document does not include version info that I can find) the MCR 8.5.1 32-bit was installed. The link in the guide (https://in.mathworks.com/supportfiles/downloads/R2015a/deployment_files/R2015%20aSP1/installers/win32/MCR_R2015aSP1_win32_installer.exe) is dead so I used another link I found online .

Jeremy,

Have you connected the AWR1642BOOST+DEVPACK atleast once and installed the FTDI drivers on the PC and tried opening the RadarStudio. The error snapshot looks like the FTDI drivers were not installed for the AWR1642 + DEVPACK on the PC.

Please install these drivers by connecting the device and try opening the RadarStudio.

No I had not connected the HW. After mating the BOOST to the DevPack and plugging into USB, I was able to get the RadarStudio to launch properly.
