TDC1000-GASEVM: Air Flow metering in a Air Pressure Line for Pneumatic Tools. Wich solution?

Part Number: TDC1000-GASEVM

Hi All,

we are pneumatic tools manufacturer and we would like to have a rough indication of the PRESSURED AIR FLOW through the tubes in order to understand how the pneumatic tools are working... in fact the efficency of the tool is directly related to the air flow, pressure and RPM.

So, we are searching for a cheap solution. Would you mind suggesting us wich is the best device to use to develop such a solution?

Thank you very much for your kind help.

Best Regards

Fabio

  • Hello Fabio,

The TDC1000 is designed for use in gas and liquid flow measurement systems, and the TDC1000-GASEVM that you have mentioned in the title is the best evaluation tool for this application. A specialized transducer system will be required for this, however. I would suggest contacting Audiowell who has created flow measurement transducer housings for this type of application in the past.

    Regards,
  • Hallo Scott!

Thank you very much for your prompt answer.

Scott, for sure we will contact Audiowell.

In the menawhile, since we have no experience in ultrasonic metering, can you please give us some guidelines?

    For example:

    • in order to measure a flow of 20 to 500 lt. per minute, wich frequency is better? Higher (say more than 500Khz) or lower (say 30-50 Khz)?
    • we do not need any particular extreme resolution. We expect a +- 5 or 10% error.
    • is it possible to use a normal piezoelectric ceramic transducer? Maybe only for the transmitter?
    • as you can image, for high volume quantities, the price would be an issue. Do you think that something like the PUI AUDIO UT-1240 Tx and Rx could work for our project?

    Thank you very much!

    Best Regards
