TMP108: General call command

Hi Team,

Our customer have some questions about general call command of TMP108.

At first, the address pin of TMP108 is set to GND and then the status of address pin is latched. Then the address pin should be set to VCC. At this moment, what is the device two-wire address of TMP108? 1001000 or 1001001?

The customer said the response of TMP108 after the first Byte of general call address (0000000) is ACK, but the response after second Byte of general call address (00000100) is NACK. Is this phenomenon normal?

Hi Ricardo,

The device detects the state of the address pin during every I2C Transaction. This is necessary to support decoding of address state when the SCL and SDA options are used. The text contradicts itself; the device does not support Address Acquire (0b00000100.) There's no need to use Address Acquire.

After the address pin is changed to VCC, the address is 1001001.

The device responds to Address Acquire (00000100) with a NACK, because it is not supported. This is normal.
