TDC1000-C2000EVM: Minimum level sensing

Hi

Our customer is considering TDC1000 for water level sensing.

When they used TDC1000EVM, they could not get level data lower than 2.72 cm.

The setting of GUI was in default.

A resonant frequency of transducer  is 1MHz.

Actually, it could detect water level if it is 10cm or so.

The customer's target level is 5mm.  So we can achieve 5mm level sensing using TDC1000.

Could you please advise us?

  • Hello,

Please post the settings that are being used. It is most likely that the blanking time is too long, and is obscuring the return echo so that a STOP is not generated. I will need to see the settings used, and preferably some scope captures showing the START, STOP, and COMPIN signals for this situation.

  • Hi Scott

    Thank you for your reply.

At first, I apologize I informed wrong EVM.

We are testing with TDC1000-TDC7200EVM boards.

The following is the setting I used this time.

    tek00000.tif

Actual water level is about 1cm.

Start and stop can be detected.

    Is this result normal?
