AWR1243BOOST: In Radar Studio while configuring in functional mode RF power-up is failing.

Hi Raghu,

I have tried with memswap.bin in uniflash along with other two images and in radar studio also i followed the procedure as mentioned in radar studio guide, but in radar studio when i select #Functional Mode and connect SPI with power up RF it is showing correct firmware version for BSS but not for MSS and it is failing in RF power up.

when i try same firmware in development mode it is working and powering up RF.

so is there any other way to run functional mode in Radar Studio.

Hello Sarang,
For the AWR1243BOOST, if you are using the Functional mode:SOP4, then you need to use UNIFLASH and flash the firmware that is available in "$mmwave_dfp_00_07_00_04\firmware " alsong with the memswap.bin.

If you plan to work with Development Mode :SOP2, then you will need to have the flash erased and the use the RadarStudio and download the firmware that is available in the "$mmwave_dfp_00_07_00_04\rf_eval\rf_eval_firmware" .

Hello Raghu,

I have tried with uniflash with all three bins mentioned, when i try to connect in #functional mode, it is not connecting to UART, if I connect to SPI first then only it is connecting, apart from this, when i give RF power up, then firmware version overwritten and displays as all 0.0.0.0. then RF power in not enabling.

Are you using the ES1.0 or ES2.0 version of AWR1243 device ?

it is showing 964D. It is stating ES 2.0.

what is difference between ES1.0 and ES 2.0?

yes in functional mode it is still having issues , so I am working with development mode now.

If possible to find issues in functional mode, then we will need support.

Please let me know if you are trying to connect to UART in the functional mode.
In functional mode, you will not be able to connect to the UART, but you should be able to perform SPI_CONNECT and RF POWERUP.

Thank you for previous responses, I want to clear few things about CSI-2 interface of AR1443 and AWR1243, does both possesses  same THS_Prepare and THS_zero value?

or both having different values for ths_prepare and ,ths_zero.

Data sheet of AR1443 does not provide value, where in AWR 1243 provides value.
