AWR1243: Tx Output AC or DC coupled ?

Hi,

On the AWR1243 chip, are the TX outputs AC coupled or DC coupled ?

If they are DC coupled, is there any DC voltage on the TX output lines ?

The TX output is DC coupled with 0V DC.

I am a bit confused here.

I do not understand how the output is DC coupled and not have any DC bias. The 0V DC would imply it is ac coupled.

Hello RJ,
If you are connecting the transmitter output directly to an external receiver (or equipment) ,a true AC coupled signal means you could have a different DC voltages on both transmitter and receiver sides since the DC path is OPEN between the two. For example if you use a series capacitor for AC coupling the DC voltage on both sides of the cap could be different.
But in this case its not really AC coupled , the DC voltage on the output pin is forced to be 0V internally. Hence if you have a different DC bias on the receiver end it would be a problem. Hence its DC biased to 0V.
