Our customer now PP the module project, Testing in the daily office.

Testing environment : Office Light/ OPT3007 on the FPC Board.

Equipment: Light Meter

Issues:  read the data from window of device, data as 62 Lux; But the Light data as 90.40 Lux;

Would you please help to give the advice for the improve ?  many Thanks.

  • Hi Johnny,

    This is a custom FPC board correct? My first thought would be to check the cutout size on the FPCB. This could be causing attenuation if the angle of the incident light on the sensor is not normal to the sensor or if the cutout is smaller than the sensor size. We have a tool for simulating this on the opt3006 page http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/sboc487

    Also if there is any plastic or glass covering the sensor or an additional window in a case the device looks through this can cause attenuation.

    You could also try increasing the intensity of the light. If it scales linearly (measurement is still offset by 28.4 lux) this may indicate something blocking part of the sensor area.

    Best,

    Alex
