AWR1243: AWR1243 pin P11 is SYNC_OUT but also SOP1.

Part Number: AWR1243

Hello,

AWR1243 pin P11 is an output used in multi-chip mode (SYNC_OUT), but it is also an input used for programming (SOP1). Is there a possibility of a conflict?

Thank You,

kengineer

  • Hello Kengineer,
Yes, this pin is indeed used for dual functionality. During the power up of the device its an input pin for SOP1 functionality and after the bootup it can become an output pin for SYNC_OUT signal. To avoid conflict you will see that the SOP1 signal on the PCB is fed via a large series resister (like 10K). This will ensure that when the pin becomes an output there is no conflict due to strong drive our the AWR device compared to the weak 10K resister drive.

    Regards,
    Vivek
