IWR1443BOOST: mmWave Demo Visualizer Azimuth Resolution

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST

The azimuth resolution can be set to 15 deg, 30 deg or 90 deg in the CONFIGURE Tab, but the Scatter Plot in the PLOTS Tab seems to show higher resolution than the azimuth resolution set in the CONFIGURE Tab.

Why is this?

If the azimuth resolution is set to 15 deg in the CONFIGURE Tab, does it mean that the azimuth resolution shown by the Scatter Plot in the PLOTS Tab may have an error of up to +/- 15 deg?

Best regards,

Daisuke

  • Daisuke,

A resolution of 15 degree means we can not tell apart of two objects placed within 15 degree. The resolution is decided by the number of antennas.

The variation you saw on the scatter plot should be called accuracy. That can be better than resolution, unfortunately we don't have test results for azimuth accuracy.

    Hope this answers your question.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Michelle

  • Hi Michelle-san,

Thank you for your reply. Sorry for my late reply.

I understand that the accuracy depends on the software algorithm.

    Best regards,

    Daisuke
