IWR1443BOOST: The MIMO example source code

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST

Can you provide the MIMO example source code of the IWR1443BOOST? I want to do the experiment use MIMO technology with the IWR1443BOOST to test the angle resolution. But I can't find the related source code. I need help.

  • Hello,

Any program you run is going to be utilizing MIMO technology so long as more than one Tx and Rx Antenna are enabled. To maximize angular resolution you would want to enable all 4 Rx Antenna and all 3 Tx Antenna.

Your question seems quite vague, can you elaborate more on what you are trying to use MIMO for?

  • In the PDF file about mmwave radar's appliaction, they say we can use MIMO technology to improve the angular resolution. So I want to do the experiment that mentioned by the file named System Performance Measurement With the mmWave Sensor or Application Report SWRA549–May 2017 again. Now I don't have a TSW1400 so I want to do the experiment with IWR1443BOOST. And in the another file named Using mmWave sensors to enhance drone safety and productivity mentioned that the IWR1443EVM can robustly detect power lines from 25 m up to 38 m for the
smaller-diameter power line with MIMO enabled .But I can't find the demo code that related with IWR1443EVM use MIMO technology. Can you help me with this question?
  • Hello again,

I am aware of this document but the code that the authors used is not available for release.

If you want to obtain plots like the heat map that are pictured on page 7 then you simply need to enable heat map functionality for the standard out of box demo.

  • I am very sad to know this news that the code can't released. Does there has any another code about MIMO technology for the IWR1443BOOST?
  • Hello,

I'm sorry if my first post wasn't clear but all of the example projects that use more than 1 Tx and 1 Rx Antenna are utilizing MIMO technology. You will find very similar results that were obtained in SWRA549 when you use the standard mmWave Visualizer.

I'd recommend you try this out and let me know if you have any questions.

  • Thank you very much. I will try to do it and if I find questions I will ask you again.
