IWR1443BOOST: differentiate height of adult versus child?

Dear team,

I wanted to know if it possible to detect height of objects in scene and demonstrate as a vector line (Z axis) in 3TX+elevation (3D) configuration on mmWave_Demo_Visualizer web tool?

for example to differentiate height of adult versus child?

What you recommend to achieve such an application, Thanks in advance.

Hi Shai,

IWR1443BOOST is more than suitable for this application. Here's the thing about the BoosterPack EVM. The Azimuth field of view is +/- 60 degrees (120 total) and the Elevation Field of View is +/- 15 degrees (30 total). For this reason it might make sense to just turn the EVM on its side in order to have a wider field of view for your height measurement.

Hi Akash,

The customer wants the wide Azimuth field of view in addition to identifying objects height.
if it's possible to edit/modify the Visualizer 3D plots (dev.ti.com/.../)
So it will able to draw a vector line of height of the object in 3D plots on the Z axis .
Or maybe there is another way to presented that?

Hello Shai,

If you're looking to alter the GUI Plots then this will have to be done through TI's GUI Composer. You'll first need to import the project from the Gallery (https://dev.ti.com/gallery/) and then open it up through Gui Composer (https://dev.ti.com/gc/). A guide on GUI Composer is available here: dev.ti.com/.../index.html

Another complete alternative would be to work with the new Robot Operating System Lab (ROS) which is available here: dev.ti.com/.../

Lastly, it might be in your interest to look at the height measurement experiment on the TI-Resource Explorer: dev.ti.com/.../
