OPT8241-CDK-EVM: Sensor accuracy

Greetings,

   I have same applications involving the need for measurement of products that are up to 1.3 meter  in diameter with a stand off 3.6 meters stand-off. This makes the box around the object about 1.5 meter square. What kind of (XY) resolution might I expect and what kind of Z depth resolution may I see also(best case).

  • Hi Larry, I have looked through the videos and muck of the information is straight forward except for some deep issues. Maybe the best thing to do is look at the tool again and ask questions about parameters which are a bit ambiguous . The sensor itself seems to be a marvel of technology and if I can reach to sub mm range accuracy it will make our equipment much better. At the ranges that I had provided , do you think that measurements at least slightly less than 1mm are achievable from standoffs of 3.6 meter and FOV of 2.5 meters square for those cells that can read?

    Sub-millimeter accuracy will be very hard to achieve with 3D-TOF. As you simulation output showed, it will take tremendous amount of power. Alternative technology may be more suitable.
