AWR1642BOOST: TSW1400+AWR1642 、TI Launch pad+AWR1642 、

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642, AWR1443, AWR1243

Hi;

Now I have the AWR1642 BOOST and I want to buy TSW1400+AWR1642 or TI Launch pad+AWR1642, but i have some questions above the following hardware platforms:

1. Can all of the above hardware platforms display the range/angle/velocity in the form of a graph?

2. The TSW1400+AWR1642 can capture the raw ADC data, and can the TI Launch pad+AWR1642 do it ?

3. Do I need the raw ADC data if I just do the hardware not do the algorithm ?

Regards,

Monica

  • Hello Monica,

    A1: All the devices are capable of  giving out raw ADC data that can be further processed to compute range, angle, velocity . The AWR1443 and AWR1642 have hardware accelerators and integrated DSP respectively, These are  are capable of performing the FFT's to compute the range , velocity etc.

    The AWR1243 is closed RF front end that gives out raw ADC data that can be captured  by HW like TSW1400EVM and the captured data is then post processed to do range/velocity  computation .

    A2: The Launchpad is not capable of capturing the raw ADC data from the device.

    A3: If you like to do some processing and run your own algorithms  on the ADC data you will need the raw data.

    Thanks,

    Raghu
