Hi there,

I conduct research about human sensing for medical purpose. The IWR/AWR radar come to a good choice for sensing human movement. I am curious whether the IWR or AWR radar is the better solution for this scenario. I notice the IWR has 12dbm tx power which could be for the safety reason I guess. So is it legal for the medical purpose in the indoor environment in like AU/US/EU countries? For the two available choices in IWR series, one has DSP and the other has accelerator but what is the major differences regarding to the performance and applications? And the final question is the quantity of the stock. Will they be available for like thousands in future? Any advice would be highly appreciated.

    The AWR devices are recommended only for automotive application . For your application, IWR is more suited.

    Your query on the 12dBm TX power and safety is answered in below post:

    On IWR1642, the DSP (a C674X) is a regular processor, on which any algorithm can be written in the C language.

    The hardware accelerator on IWR1443 has a fixed set of accelrators that can perform a limited set of algorithms - FFTs, CFAR-CAs, etc. Programming and sequencing the hardware accelerator is done using register sets.  For more information on the hardware accelerators:
