IWR1443BOOST: mmWave Sensing Estimator Error

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1243, IWR1443

An error for the radar cube size is shown in the mmWave Sensing Estimator, but the same settings can be used in the mmWave Demo Visualizer.

Why is this?

Best regards,

Daisuke

  • Hello Maeda-san,

Are you able to configure the device with these settings ?

  • Hi Raghu-san,

Thank you for your reply. Sorry for my late reply.

Is the Radar studio needed to configure the device with the settings (*.json) by the mmWave Sensing Estimator?

I should not be able to use the Radar studio for not having TSW1400EVM. Therefore, the output data from the radar device can only be confirmed in the mmWave Demo Visualizer.

    Best regards,

    Daisuke

  • Hi Daisuke,

You don't need Radar Studio in order to implement this specific chirp configuration.

Since the Radar Cube Size is determined by the on chip memory I'd recommend trying the same configuration in the Sensing Estimator for device xWR1243. Since there is no memory on AWR1243 you shouldn't run in to the Cube Size issue.

  • Hi Akash-san,

Thank you for your reply. Sorry for my late reply.

Is the result by the mmWave Sensing Estimator for IWR1443 correct?

If so, I understand that this specific chirp configuration is not available in IWR1443.

We can use AWR1243  for non-automotive applications?

    Best regards,

    Daisuke
