TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: change Excitation frequency to 56KHz

Part Number: TDC1000-TDC7200EVM

Hello,

I got TDC1000-TDC7200EVM board and it's fine for measuring water level with sensor, 1Mhz transducer (SMD15T21R111WL). I want to operate 56KHz transducer and configure TDC1000 board for operating two transducer one for transmitting ultrasonic signal and other transducer for receiving echo signal.

Suggest me filter value required for change for supporting excitation frequency of 56KHz. As I am not able to find filter calculation part and configure TDC1000 board for operating two transducer .

  • Hello,

Due to Thanksgiving holiday the responses on this forum have been delayed. I will be looking into this and get back to you.

  • Hi Mohammad,

When using two transducers you will have to change the mode of the TDC1000. Since one transducer will be transmitting, and the other receiving, you should use Mode 2. The different modes are described in section 8.4 of the datasheet.

The bandpass filter design formulas are included in the datasheet in section 8.3.5 Receiver Filters. You can use these formulas to build a filter centered at 56kHz, or you can use any other filter topology that you like.

    Regards,
