AWR1243: AWR1243 I2C for PMIC

Part Number: AWR1243
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642, AWR1443

Hi Sir/Madam:

I checked that in the AWR1243 Boost EVK schematic, the I2C of PMIC is connected to AWR1243 pin P4 and R3, however for AWR1243 datasheet, P4 and R3 are reserved, meanwhile, R4 and R5 are also reserved in ds  but still as MSS and BSS log out to XDS110 for debug.

Do these 4 reserved pins(P4, R3, R4, R5) are really have I2C master and MSS/BSS log out function on AWR1243? I know they do have in AWR1642.

  • Hello Wang,

The AWR1443 device has the I2C interface and since the PCB is reused between 1243 and 1443 device (since they are footprint compatible) the I2C connection remains in the AWR1243 Boost also. But the AWR1243 device does not have  I2C interface, and hence you cannot use them. Same for the MSS and BSS logger pins.

    Regards,
