Linux/AWR1443: waiting for data when setting up with Ubuntu 16.04

I have gone through the instructions for setting up with Ubuntu:

and it all seems to install OK. When attaching the board with usb, I see:

Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0451:bef3 Texas Instruments, Inc.

which corresponds to the udev rule created in the installation. I also get serial ports AMC0 and AMC1, as expected

but I don't know which one corresponds to the CFG port and which one corresponds to the DATA port.

I tried both configurations, but the application shows the connection status as "waiting for data" in both cases.

The status lights on the board show as expected: +5V is red and the yellow "out of reset" light is on.

I tried the chrome version first and then installed the standalone version and got the same results with both.

Hello Dan,
Have you loaded the device with the mmw demo application code ?
After you have downloaded the code to the device , you should be able to "SEND CONFIG TO MMWAVE DEVICE" using the mmWave Demo Visualizer.

Once the configuration is downloaded to the device , you will be able to receive the object data from the device.

Turned out that it was a permission problem with the ports. Adding my user name to the dialout group resolved the problem.

Also, for future reference, the command port is ACM0 and the data port is ACM1. it would be helpful to include that in the installation instructions.

That was already loaded on the board. Nevertheless, I appreciate your time in considering the problem. I solved it as noted in the comment above.
