BOOSTXL-PGA460: Getting dead zone of 30cm

Part Number: BOOSTXL-PGA460

I am working on BOOSTXL-PGA460 board and transducer muRata MA58MF 14-7N.I am using GUI version 1.0.1.0 with  default setting for MA58MF 14-7N.The documented dead zone for this transducer is 20cm but i am getting about 30cm.Can you please solve this problem.

  • By Adjusting threshold points this problem resolved
  • Farzan,

You can also reduce the number of pulses, reduce the driver current limit (if transformer driven), reduce the supply voltage, reduce the time varying gain level, reduce the digital gain, and increase the low-pass filter cut-off frequency to help improve the decay profile for short ranging.

To further minimize the ranging of the TDK EPCOS B78416A2232A003 transformer and muRata MA58MF14-7N transducer combination, place a 680pF tuning capacitor (CT) and 10kΩ damping resistor (RDamp) in parallel to the transducer. This will enable sub-15cm ranging depending on the pulse count, center-tap voltage, and driver current limit.
