CCS/IWR1642BOOST: How to Shift IWR1443 Demo Codes to IWR1642 EVM?

I found that most of the existing demo only supports IWR1443. Is there any way one can change these codes to make them run on IWR1642? Any suggestion?

    Hi Juzheng,

    Unfortunately there isn't a way to do this. The Labs that are available for IWR1642BOOST specifically use the integrated DSP in some capacity. Since this isn't necessary for most applications, we are using IWR1443 for most of these demos.

    If you want to talk more about your application I can give you more information about IWR1642 that might be useful to you.

    Hi Akash,

    We had long hesitation between IWR1642 and IWR1443 before the purchase. We bought the IWR1642 just because it has an additional DSP component. Should the IWR1642 run all the demos of IWR1443 as long as we don't use the DSP? In another words, do the two radars have totally different purposes or one is a strengthened version of another one?

    Hi James,

    I'm sorry but the demos are not cross compatible. The Labs that are compatible with IWR1642 are:
    -SDK Demo
    -High Accuracy Range Measurement
    -ROS Point Cloud Visualizer

    A few other demos will also be available in early 2018 for IWR1642.

    TI recommends the IWR1642 if you are aware of a specific purpose for the integrated DSP. If there isn't a particular need for the DSP then the IWR1443 is sufficient for most of our customers which is why most of the Labs are for this device. Perhaps an IWR1443BOOST might be of use for evaluation purposes? Let me know if you have any more questions here.
