AWR1243: 6 bit Phase shifter support on mmWave SDK and Radar SDK

Part Number: AWR1243

For a customer project, we are thinking about using AWR1243P for its phase shifting on TX feature.

1. I believe that the mmwave SDK 1.01 version will have support on API/mmwave link for this feature. Can anyone confirm?

2. Does the current available version of Radar SDK 3.01 has APIs for this feature which can smoothly link to the mmwave link? If not, Is it being planned to be supported in the next version??and if so, when Can I expect the newer version?

Thanks in advance,

Santhana Raj

  • Santhana,

A1: The API are already supported in the mmwavelink . But the current AWR1243 devices do not support this feature.

A2: The Radar SDK can also use the supported mmwavelink API.

You will require the AWR1243P devices to check this feature.
    Thanks,

  • Hi Raghu,

Thank you for the explanation. One thing is not clear.

Does the Radar SDK have an API already integrated, which I can directly use to link the corresponding API from mmwave SDK? Or do I have to write that myself?

If it is not there, Is it being planned to be supported in the nearby future versions??

    Thanks in advance,

  • Santhana,

The current Radar SDK does not include any code(mmwaveLink API) related to phase shifter as there is no way it can be validated on the existing devices.
A newer version of the RadarSDK may be released on later date once the AWR1243P devices are available and when this feature can be validated.

I do not have the dates in when the new Radar SDK will be published.
