Dear Team,

Following up my customer which using AWR1243 device, please see below his questions:

Say having the 37.5 conversion rates multiplied by 4 RX channels and by 2 (I+Q) we shall stall at 300MSPS, why 600MSPS x 4 CSI2 required?
Is an amplifier required for 20GHz LO output when using a star topology to sync more the 4 AWRs? dBm?
Looking at the Application Report SWRA554–May 2017 (MIMO Radar) I’ve noticed that the FOV stated as +/-90DEG. I remember that:

The highest value, which can be achieved for the Field of View (FOV) of a planar phased array antenna is 120°. Shouldn’t it be +/-60?

I will really appreciate your kind response for the above .

Hello Shai,

A1:We need to get more information on what exactly is the concern, at 37.5MSPS only supported during real (I only) with I+Q Max supported sampling rate is 16.67MSPS.

A2:This depends on the power link budget from 20GHz Output power (7dBm) to minimum input of 20GHz Buffer (-10dBm) amount of power loss (transition, board, splitter losses etc) that could accommodated would decide external amplifier needed or not

Thank you for your reply, is still unclear why the 600MSPS x 4 CSI2 required for only 37.5MSPS x 4?
they wondering if they can use only one lane (or two lanes) of CSI2 to save space on the board.
I will waiting for for answer num 3

As for the 37.5MSPS，it is the sampling rate. And the ADC has a 12bit resolution.

37.5MSPS * 12bit equals 600Mbps, so it need 4 CSI2 lanes of 600Mbps for 4 RX sampling data.
