AWR1443BOOST: heart beat detection ( vital signs lab demo )

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST

Hi ,

i am working on the vital sign lab on the AWR1443BOOST, and as noticed the sensor always gives a false heart rate even if there is no person in front of it, is there any way that we could make it gives lower heart rate if it is not detecting a person like 30 or 20 instead of 55 or 60 ? also i want to see the program that runs the GUI but i cant find it ,

would you be so kind to help me ?

thanks

Sylvia

  • Hi Sylvia,

The sensor should be giving both a breathing and heart rate of zero when there is no one in front of it. Can you confirm the breathing rate is also zero?

The Vital Signs Lab is using the sensor to detect change in chest displacement on the order of micrometers. As a result even the slightest vibration on your table or EVM mount will cause a false-positive for heart rate. I'd recommend ensuring that the table your EVM is on is completely free of disturbances as even the fan on your laptop can cause a disturbance.

  • Hi Akash it always gives heart rate of 50 or more  and breathing rate of zero while no body  stands in-front of it even when suspended on the ceiling
