LDC1000-Q1: operating temperature and junction temperature

Part Number: LDC1000-Q1

I see that the operating temperature range of the LDC1000-Q1 is between -40 and +150°C (graded 0). From its datasheet, the junction temperature is 150°C.
Shouldn't the junction temperature be higher than the maximum operating temperature?

Regards

  • Hi Andrea,

The specifications for the operating temperature are based on the junction temperature. You can use the thermal information in the datasheet to determine the maximum ambient temperature. Since the LDC1000 consumes a modest amount of power - typically less than 30mW, the temperature difference between ambient and junction is typically <3degrees C.
