AWR1443: radar to measure range to water surface (liquid sensing) from an height of more than 40 m, with angle and SNR information

Hello,

I am looking for a radar that is able to range water surface from a range of at least 40 m, with an accuracy of few cm, providing information about target angle and intensity/SNR for each target. This radar should be implemented on UAVs (drones).

Any suggestion for a radar sensor? What about the AWR1443? Can it detect water up to that range with high resolution?

Hello Filippo,

The range you mentioned for your application is achievable with the AWR1443 .

You can go through the white paper on "Fluid-level sensing using 77GHz millimeter wave " .

As you are targeting the mmWave sensors to be used on a Drone, please also refer to the white paper on "Using mmWave Sensors for Drone Safety and productivity".
