TDC1000-TDC7200EVM: Calculation of flow.

Hello,

I am using TDC1000-7200 EVM to measure water flow in a pipe. The flow which is being measured in the GUI is it measured by the MCU MSP430 or the GUI itself is measuring based on the TOF differences.

Hi Prudhvi,

The MSP430 just outputs the time of flight, and the GUI does the calculation for the flow rate shown on the graph page.

Thanks for the reply. Is the MCU powerful enough to implement transit time equations? Do load a code in the EVM is a debugger required or the UART connection sufficient?

Hello,

The calculations aren't very intensive (volumetric flow equations shown in this app note: www.ti.com/.../snia020.pdf), so the MCU should be able to handle them without issue.
