IWR1443: Maximum possible range for a bicycle

Part Number: IWR1443

I' d like to detect a bicycle at 200--300m away with IWR1443.

In Japan, 79GHz radar can transmit 10mW(max).

I think IWR1443BOOST can not detect it at 200m, because its antenna pattern is too wide.

but I expect its antenna is modified as narrow appropriately, it can do it.

What do you think it is possible or not ?

If you give me any comment, it would be great helpful for  me.

    Hello Michiyo,

    The antenna can be modified on your final board spin in order to optimize for your particular application. Something like a horn antenna sounds ideal for what you are trying to do.

    One thing you can do right now is to procure an optical lens in order to concentrate your EVM's beam pattern although I cannot comment on the whereabouts of a lens for you to use at this time.

    i’ve been thinking to apply horn antenna to our application.

    but i don’t have any experimet of horn antenna.

    i’ll consult  with engineers in my company who can design an antenna.
