TDC1000: EVM

Part Number: TDC1000

1) What's the size of the peak to peak pulse coming out of the TDC1000?

2) Generally, how big or how much does the signal coming out of the TDC1000 have to be amplified in order to reach 3meters detection distance? Trying to get a sense of how powerful my amplifier needs to be before attempting to build it. Thanks for your time.

  • Hello,

    1. It is dependent on your VDD supply voltage. From the datasheet TX high = Vdd-0.32V and TX low = 0.32V

    2. In water depending on the transducer you may not need to amplify the signal at all to reach 3m distance. The transducer included in the EVM should reach that distance with proper configuration of the TDC1000. In any case, just keep in mind the recommended maximum voltage levels of the transducer you are using if it is listed.

    Regards,
