Dear everyone,

Could I use TMP006 thermopile as infrared sensor to record mid-infrared spectrum of sample and to be economy, please?

I also intend to use TMP116 as infrared sensor. However, it is contacting sensor, so could I do so, please?

If you know some appropriate sensors, please give me an advice.

    TMP006 is not recommended for any new designs. In fact it reached EOL so you can not order it any more.

    If you need contact-less temp sensors, please consider other options in the market. TI don't have direct replacement for infrared based temp sensors and can not recommend other vendors.

    As you mentioned TMP116 is a contact-based sensor, it has to be physically touching the monitoring area to measure temperature. It can not be used as an IR sensor.
