TMP112: Alert problem while temp didn't pass Thigh but then drop below Tlow

Part Number: TMP112

Hi, assume current temperature is 40, and the high alarm is 45, low alarm is 35.

If the temperature drops from 40 to 32, will it trigger the alarm?

The picture below from datasheet Figure 16,  it seems this situation won't trigger the alarm?

If no, do we have a method to realize it?

Thanks and happy new year!

Best regards,

Marc

  • Hi Marc,
As described in section 7.4.4.2 Interrupt Mode (TM = 1) of the TMP112 data sheet,

"In Interrupt mode (TM = 1), the Alert pin is activated when the temperature exceeds T(HIGH) or goes below T(LOW)
registers. The Alert pin is cleared when the host controller reads the temperature register. For more information
on the interrupt mode, see the High- and Low-Limit Register section"

Please notice that the diagram in Figure 6 will show an alert at the time of the red circled time if the fault bits in the configuration register are set to "1" consecutive faults, however this could be trigger the false alerts as mentioned in the relevant section: 7.5.3.4

    Regards,

    Jose
