Hello,

About mentioning of 28 page of data sheet,

Why can't we use light pipes with any ambient light sensor?

Do any problems happen to that?

    Dear Itabi,

    You can definitely use light pipes with our ambient light sensor. The note in the datasheet is just a cautionary statement that while using light pipes it is recommended that its properties, design and other considerations are well understood.

    There are matching considerations like ensuring radiation pattern of the light sources matches the acceptance pattern angle of light pipe for best transmission. There are literatures available in public domain that you could read about.
