Hello Team,

Can you please provide the recommended matching between the antenna the TX/RX driver/LNA?

It is clear the better it is the better would be, but since the BW we are talking about is quite wide, it would help to have a guidance.

I think if we have the Smith chart /S parameters of our EVM it would already help.

Can you share this info?

In particular it would be also interesting to know what level of isolation between the Antenna you would recommend.

Hello,

The device ball to L1 pad, Grounded CoPlanar Waveguide, special impedance compensation for L2 GND hole, and antenna striplines are described in the attached hardware design guide.

The impedance design for RF-Tx to GPCW to antenna is 50ohms, the antenna to GPCW to RF-Rx is also 50 ohms.5460.HardwareDesignChecklist_V0p7fix_IWR1443_SWRR150.xlsx

We will ask the design engineers for a Smith Chart from simulation, we do not have one currently. The information on the antenna related to S11 simulation and antenna patterns is also attached.

Hello,

One of the RF/antenna design engineers has provided a sample smith chart for a characterization board. AWR1642 (same as IWR1642), Rogers R3003 material (used for characterization, R4835 is used for EVM boards), the L2 impedance compensation is included.
