AWR1443BOOST: Measured distance is always longer than the actual distance

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST

Hello,

When I tested a metal box with 2 m away by using the high accuracy visualizer, the measured distance was always about 2.0667 m. When I tested a phone with 10 cm away, the measured distance was about 16 cm. Similarly, the measured distance was about 5 cm longer when I tested the raw adc data capture demo. Is there any way to fix this issue?

Thanks,

Yun

  • Hi Yun,

The difference is usually caused by RF antenna mismatch. We provide a range bias compensation in mmw demo of SDK1.1. Unfortunately, it's not implemented in the 14xx high accuracy demo.

What you can do now is to setup a corner reflector or metal plate at known distance (1-2m) away. Measure that and get the range bias. Either manually subtract the bias or update high accuracy visualizer to show the correct value. Sorry about the inconvenience. We'll consider update that in future high accuracy lab release.

    Regards,
